Windows XP Manual SurfBest Setup

Click on Start, and then Control Panel.

In the Control Panel window, click on "Network and Internet Connections"

Then, click on "Set up or change your Internet Connection"

The Internet Properties window will open. Click the button labeled "Setup"

You should see a screen like shown above. Click next.

Choose "Connect to the Internet" and press next.

Choose "Set up my connection manually" and press next.

Choose "Connect using a dial-up modem" and press next again.

For the name of the ISP, enter in "SurfBest".

Enter the phone number in this window, EXACTLY as your pc needs to dial. If you have 10-digit dialing, or
need to dial *70, to disable call waiting, include that here. Be aware, when disabling call waiting, the comma (,)
is necessary after the *70. When done, click next.

Enter your Username and password in the appropriate fields. Remember, the
username will start with 'sfb'. We recommend unchecking the Firewall box. When you're done, press next.

We recommend checking the box for "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop"
We've completed setting up the connection! Press Finish.

Once connected, you'll see the status icon in the bottom right next to the clock.
This indicates that you're connected. You can double-click this icon to check
your connection speed, or to disconnect.

Once you're connected, you can then open any web browser, such as Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Most pc's come with a shortcut for
one or the other, or both, right on the desktop.
