Click on Start, Settings, and
then Dial-Up Networking.
|
|

|

|
|
|
|

A new window will open up, labeled
Dial-Up Networking. You should see
an icon labeled "Make New Connection"
Double-click that icon.

In the new window that opens up, enter
SurfBest for the computer you are dialing.
Then hit Next.
|

|

On the next screen, enter the local access
phone number. Leave the area code
field blank, and enter the number
EXACTLY as it should be dialed in the
"Telephone number" field.
Then hit next.

The connection is setup; hit Finish.
|
|

You should now be back at the DUN
window. RIGHT-click the new SurfBest
icon, and Left-click choose Properties.

You should see a window like on the right.
Verify that the phone number is entered
correctly. Also, Uncheck the box for
"Use Area Code and Dialing Properties"
If your area requires dialing the area code,
or any other numbers, prefixes, etc, enter
those here.

Click on the tab labeled "Security"
Enter your Username and password in
the appropriate fields. Remember, the
username will start with 'sfb'.
We recommend leaving all the
checkboxes unchecked.
When you're done, press OK.

Right-click the SurfBest icon again, and
this time choose "Create Shortcut".
|
|

|
|
|

You'll see a message (as shown). Just
press Yes and then close this window.
|

|
|
|
|
| |
You should now see an icon for SurfBest
right on your desktop. Double-click it
and then press "Connect" and your
pc will connect you to the internet.

|
|

Once connected, you'll see the status icon
in the bottom right next to the clock.
This indicates that you're connected.
You can double-click this icon to check
your connection speed, or to disconnect.

|

Once you're connected, you can then
open any web browser, such as Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
Most pc's come with a shortcut for
one or the other, or both, right on the
desktop.
